Description

Create your own miniature record player! This design is great for cards, gifts, miniatures, dollhouses, and more.

The templates includes shape to create the base, speakers, knob, needle, and optional clear lid from acetate. Check out the assembly video to see how easy this project is to assemble!

Specs

Using the default size included on US letter paper will produce a record player 1″ tall and 1.75″ wide. This size record player will support records that are ~1.1″.

Instructions

This item does not include a separate pdf for instructions. The assembly is straight forward: glue the objects onto the base, fold the base together like any other box. There is a separate (optional) lid that can be created from acetate, this also folds together like any other box.

Cricut Design Space:
1, After loading the design, adjust scale per the text document included in download file.
2, Press the Ungroup button once (there should still be 3 subgroups remaining)
3, For the top subgroup with two items inside: set the top layer to score and attach these two items.
4, Repeat step 3 for the next group.
5, Adjust colors as needed, then “make it”

Assembly
1, Glue the speaker pieces to the back of the base (the largest piece), covering the speaker holes.
2, Glue the knob to the front, between the two speaker holes.
3, Crease the score lines and glue the base together (it is basically a cube/box).
4, There is a small nub that you will see cut on top, fold this out and use it as a guide for centering the rectangular button panel, then the circular record holder (the nub will fit through both holes).
5, Fold the needle along the dashed lines and glue it to the top of the base so that its point is above where a record will go.
6, Optional – a top/cover can be cut from acetate (I literally used the film from my cutting mat) and glued together with super glue. Once the 3d box form is created, use the two hinges on the back to adhere it to the record player base. You now have a clear, hinged cover to protect your vinyl records from dust.

Files

These files will download in a compressed/zipped folder. You must be able to unzip a compressed folder in order to use this item. This software is likely already installed on your PC and you will simply need to right-click the folder and select “Unzip” or “Extract”.

Also included are instructions for how to Score then Cut in Cricut Design Space (if you are unfamiliar). These instructions are from a different listing so the screenshots do not match exactly, but the concept is the same.

*files for the vinyl records and sleeves are also included with this design
*The design made in the listing shows cane texture used for the speakers. I have also included a version with solid rectangles (no texture) for speaker use if you want a more modern design.
